Plan electrics before the room is finished.
We coordinate electrical work within kitchen, bathroom and heating projects. Decide appliance, socket and lighting positions before cabinets, tiles or decoration cover the service routes. The electrician needs the product specifications as well as the room plan.

Electrical work within your renovation
- Kitchen appliance connections and socket positions
- Lighting layouts for renovated rooms
- Bathroom electrical and ventilation requirements
- Electrical requirements linked to heating changes
Confirm the work with the electrician
The existing installation must be assessed for the proposed work; a new appliance or extra socket is not just a layout decision. Ask which tests, installation certificates and building regulations notifications apply. Scheme registration can be checked through the registers linked by GOV.UK.
What can change the price?
Existing circuits
The electrician needs to check whether the current installation can support the proposed appliances and alterations.
Access and repairs
Agree how cables will reach their positions and who repairs walls or ceilings after access is made.
Testing and notification
Confirm who provides the required electrical records and, where applicable, arranges building regulations notification.
Questions about this work
Is every electrical job notifiable to building control?
No. Requirements depend on the work and location. Ask the electrician to explain which route applies rather than assuming that all small jobs are exempt.
Can the electrician’s registration be checked?
GOV.UK links to the Electrical Competent Person Register. Ask for the appointed electrician’s registered business name before booking, then check the entry against that name.
Can I ask about a standalone electrical job?
Send the address and description so we can confirm whether we can take it on. The electrical service described here is primarily for work within renovations.
