Send the information that changes the job
Start with your postcode, contact details and whether the job is a repair, replacement or layout change. State what you want to keep and whether you need products supplied or fitting only.
Include approximate measurements and product references if available. Mention stairs, restricted parking, narrow access and whether the work affects your only toilet or cooking facilities. These details can change access arrangements and the order of work.
Copy this into your enquiry
Complete the fields you know; leave undecided products marked as undecided rather than guessing.

Compare the same work, not just the total
Put the quotations side by side and check preparation, products, labour, waste disposal and repairs to disturbed surfaces. Ask whether VAT is included or applicable and which prices are allowances rather than confirmed amounts. A missing task can explain a lower total.
Check whether the figure is a quotation or an estimate and ask what could change it. Agree payment stages and how changes are approved before booking; keep the answers with the written proposal.
Clarify what happens before a price is final
An enquiry may need a site visit before dimensions, existing services or concealed conditions can be assessed. Ask which assumptions remain and which checks will confirm them.
If you email photographs, include an overall room view and a closer view of the relevant fitting, where safely accessible. Avoid including people, paperwork or other personal information that does not help explain the job.
